Essential Job Duties:Performs design analysisAssists team in developing engineering designs, packaging arrangements & loading arrangementsAssists in implementing engineering changesDevelops PFEP (Plan For Every Part/Package) documentation and packagingParticipates in solution of engineering related product problems (Root Cause) especially regarding handling damage issuesWorks with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, standardization, methods improvement, and product improvementsRun projects as needed.Plans and implements test and / or development programs regarding new packagingReleases packaging parts for productionCommunicates information to and from internal and external customer organizationsCoordinates and consults with departments outside engineering such as Manufacturing, Purchasing and QualityStays abreast of new technology and competitive productsProvide processing support for operations including spec development, problem solving, material ordering,Spec and support packaging equipment.Investigate freight and warehouse damage or packaging discrepancies.
Minimum Qualifications:BS in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing EngineeringMinimum of 1-3 years packaging experience.Training in computer applications including MS Office and CAD
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Solid Works 2017Ability to read engineering drawingsHigh level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficultKnowledge of transportation modalitiesGood oral and written communications skillsHigh level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with othersUnderstanding of design / manufacturing processesAbility to work independently and with othersProject management/ six sigma experienceProcess or manufacturing engineering experience
