To elevate the image and reputation of GCSAA and its 18,000 members, we are seeking a polished professional with excellent relationship building skills to join our Publications team. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day media relations efforts of the association, including servicing general media requests, formulating relationships with members of both the golf course management industry and general golf media and creating tournament fact sheets for upcoming events.
Qualified candidates should have a solid understanding of the golf industry and the role of the superintendent and the ability to establish contacts and develop relationships with the media, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Travel, up to 25-30%, is also required.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field or equivalent experience required. Minimum three years' experience in a media/public relations or communications role is also required. Previous experience working in a press box or media center preferred.
We take our work seriously, but we know how to have fun. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position that is expected to earn ample overtime during their travels. The starting wage for this position is $21.65 - $24.04/hour and will receive GCSAA's attractive benefit package including but not limited to health, dental, vision, life and company matched 401(k).
