GCSAA is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven self-starter with strong editing skills to join the Golf Course Management (GCM) team, GCSAA's award winning flagship publication. This position will solicit, review, edit, and proofread the research section of GCM. In addition, this position will be responsible for a bimonthly column on topics related to turfgrass and represent GCM at scientific conferences and industry events.
Qualified candidates must possess strong editing skills, specifically scientific/technical editing conventions, high attention to detail and advanced knowledge of copy editing, feature writing and interviewing. Solid understanding of the publications process and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment a plus. Candidates must have a minimum of five years professional experience working as a science/technical editor or writer, preferably in scholarly publications, and possess a bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience. A degree in plant sciences, especially turfgrass, or related experience preferred. Experience editing or writing in a technical or scientific capacity is required. Familiarity with the golf industry or experience in an association/non-profit a plus.
We take our work seriously, but we know how to have fun. Compensation range is $48,000 - $60,000.
